Picture
Hydrotherapy is the use of water, to maintain health and to prevent disease.  Hydrotherapy has been around for thousands of years and its use was first recorded in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome.  Water as a form of therapy has many different applications.  Your naturopathic doctor may recommend hydrotherapy to stimulate or strengthen the immune system, increase blood circulation, relax muscles, decrease inflammation or to relax the body.

Examples of hydrotherapy include using an ice pack to decrease inflammation after an acute injury such as a sprained ankle, going for a cold shower to wake up
